In summary, in Charlotte’s Web, the most frequent used passive translation technique is covert passive while in overt passive, dai-rup is the most used overt passive in Charlotte’s Web and the least used is omission since it does not cause the difference in meaning in the context. In Peter Pan, the most used passive translation technique is overt passive, and the least used translation technique is active. Nevertheless, the translator of Peter used overt and covert passive almost in the same amount with slightly differences. As a results, the translator of Charlotte’s Web is tended to use covert passive the most. It can be implied that the translator uses covert passive to avoid using the thuk, don, and dai-rup of overt passive in her translation but still contains the original meaning of the text from source language into target language. Whilst in Peter Pan, the usage of overt and covert passive is similar, and there is not an omission in the translation of this story. This is contrary to Satthachai (2019)’s study which focuses on legal translation. From the findings, this may be due to the consideration of the translators who tried to keep the translation to be simple as they took account of children’s understanding about stories.
